Spyderco | Myrtle
The Spyderco Myrtle is a high-quality pocket knife designed by Filip de Leeuw. This is the second collaboration with Spyderco for this Belgian knife maker. The Myrtle stands out because of its blade shape. Towards the tip, the edge runs down a little bit. This fantastic blade shape helps moving the material you are cutting towards the blade. The tip is also very suitable for more precise work. Combined with the sharpness of the thin flat blade, this knife has amazing cutting properties.
Opening the blade goes simply by characteristic thumb hole. For lefties this is a little bit more difficult, so we feel this is really a knife for right-handed people.
The blade is made of CPM S30V steel. A powder steel which is known for excellent sharpness preservation and rust resistance. The handle is made of titanium. They have added a beautiful carbon fiber handle part which looks amazing. This marbled carbon fiber is wonderful and gives the knife a luxurious look. The blade is locked in the open position by a solid frame-lock.
Care and Maintenance
Care and Maintenance
To keep your Spyderco knife performing at its best, clean the blade with warm soapy water and a soft cloth after use. For tougher grime, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush. If debris accumulates, use compressed air to clear the pivot and hard-to-reach areas. Ensure your knife is completely dry before applying a drop of lubricant to the pivot for smooth operation. Avoid disassembling your knife unless absolutely necessary, and always follow proper reassembly practices. Store your knife in a dry place and avoid prolonged contact with moisture.
