Based on the third-generation version of the popular Delica™ model, the Salt 1™ combines weight-saving advantages of a one-piece fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle with the ultra-corrosion-resistant qualities of H-1® steel to create a compact, all-purpose folding knife that is practically immune to the elements. This version of the Salt 1 adds a non-reflective titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating to the blade and lock bar to make it ideal for use in environments where light discipline is a concern.
The Salt 1’s H-1 blade features a partial hollow grind that provides excellent edge geometry supported by a strong, full-thickness spine. It is available with either a PlainEdge™ or fully serrated SpyderEdge™ cutting edge and features a generous 14mm Trademark Round Hole™ to allow swift one-handed opening, even while wearing gloves. In the open position, the blade locks via a sturdy back lock mechanism, which includes a Boye Dent to help prevent unintentional release.
The injection-molded, one-piece FRN handle has a Volcano Grip™ texture pattern for a secure grip with wet hands. It is also home to a reversible titanium pocket clip that provides right or left-side tip-up carry and supports the knife’s fully ambidextrous character. All other metal components of the knife are also manufactured from corrosion-resistant alloys.

To keep your Spyderco knife performing at its best, clean the blade with warm soapy water and a soft cloth after use. For tougher grime, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush. If debris accumulates, use compressed air to clear the pivot and hard-to-reach areas. Ensure your knife is completely dry before applying a drop of lubricant to the pivot for smooth operation. Avoid disassembling your knife unless absolutely necessary, and always follow proper reassembly practices. Store your knife in a dry place and avoid prolonged contact with moisture.
