Spyderco | Street Beat Lightweight - Black Blade

The Street Beat™ Lightweight combines Fred Perrin’s acclaimed Street Beat design with the manufacturing efficiencies of an injection-molded handle and sheath. The result is an exceptionally functional, extremely affordable fixed-blade knife that is ideal for both utilitarian and personal-defense applications.

The Street Beat Lightweight’s Bowie-styled blade is machined from VG-10 stainless steel and features a full-flat grind for superior balance of edge geometry and strength. For tactical users who operate in environments where light discipline is a concern, the blade also features a non-reflective black ceramic coating. Its fiberglass-reinforced-nylon handle is injection molded directly onto the blade’s concealed tang and features the same ergonomic contours as the original. Perrin’s signature index-finger choil provides a streamlined but extremely effective guard to prevent the user’s hand from slipping during use. A section of jimping (textured grooves) on the blade and handle spine provides a high-traction thumb index and ensures superior control during precise cutting tasks. For users who prefer lanyards on their knives, the handle also includes a generously sized lanyard hole.

To maximize its carry options, the Street Beat Lightweight comes with an injection-molded, snap-fit polymer sheath with a G-Clip™ attachment. The G-Clip can be attached to either side of the sheath for ambidextrous use and is angle adjustable to support a full spectrum of vertical, horizontal, or canted carry on the belt or inside the waistband. The sheath also features grommets instead of rivets, allowing it to be easily lashed or flex-tied to MOLLE platforms or other load-bearing gear.

Care and Maintenance

To keep your Spyderco knife performing at its best, clean the blade with warm soapy water and a soft cloth after use. For tougher grime, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush. If debris accumulates, use compressed air to clear the pivot and hard-to-reach areas. Ensure your knife is completely dry before applying a drop of lubricant to the pivot for smooth operation. Avoid disassembling your knife unless absolutely necessary, and always follow proper reassembly practices. Store your knife in a dry place and avoid prolonged contact with moisture.
